Position summary:
The Pharmacy Intern position is enrolled in the internship program, which consists of both pharmacy inpatient operational and decentralized clinical responsibilities. Southwest General is committed to facilitating the incorporation of classroom didactic learning with real-world work experience. The intern will rotate through a variety of roles, including, but not limited to inpatient operations, sterile compounding, medication histories, participation in clinical pharmacy staff, presentations, and research opportunities.
The internship program will be a minimum 12-week summer commitment which will be divided into the different intern roles. There will also be a minimum of 1 weekend commitment every 8 weeks during the academic year. Roles and responsibilities will be enhanced and adjusted as the intern progress through their didactic education.
