Position summary:

The Director of Patient Financial Services plans, organizes, and coordinates the activities of assigned Revenue Cycle functions including, but not limited to, insurance billing and follow up, denials prevention and management, patient collections and customer service, to drive operational performance. Works along side staff in designing and implementing departmental strategies that are aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices. Works collaboratively with peers and internal/external stakeholders to address organizational challenges/opportunities. Monitors performance and strives for excellence through continuous process improvement. Contributes to a positive work environment that promotes SWG values.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or other related field.

Required length and type of experience:-
Proven experience with payer denial requirements and appeals processes.

8-10 years health care Patient Access, Finance, Revenue Cycle with a strong background in Accounts Receivable Management in a hospital setting.

5 years in a leadership position in a hospital/ acute care setting.

Strong financial, analytical and quantitative skills.

Must have understanding of healthcare revenue cycle, payor contracts and applicable rules and regulations affecting reimbursement for healthcare services. Knowledge of general business concepts including financial management and accounting principles and practices.

Required licensure, certification or registry:-
Healthcare Access Management Certification (CHAM), Healthcare Financial Management Association Certification (CHFP) or Healthcare Financial Management Association-Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) or other related certification preferred.
