GBN Operator
Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Department: GBN Department
Reports to: Department Supervisor
Summary/Objective
The GBN department offers two positions an Lead Operator or Labor Operator position. In these positions you are working as a team filling trays for the automated pallet assembly process under supervision and direction of GBN Supervisor.
Essential Functions
- Performs typical GBN machine operations to support and process new pallet orders.
- Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per the P.M. charts.
- Must be able to perform but not limited to the following tasks: Equipment set ups, confirm pallet lumber quality by defecting or flipping for appearance, checking that each board is has the proper amount of nails and process a pallet every 15 seconds.
- Must be familiar with the basic machine functions in order to perform the tasks stated above.
- Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance with regard to machine set-up.
- Must be flexible to extended hours of work, including weekends.
- Must be able to read a measuring tape.
