Punchlist Technician

Position Title: Punchlist Technician

Supervisor: Project Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary: The Punchlist Technician will be responsible for identifying and completing punch list and service tasks for window, siding, and door projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Paint

• Communicate with clients and Project Managers to determine the painting requirements

• Prepare the area to be painted, including removing old finish and fixtures as necessary, caulking, masking and covering, completing detail work, and setting up ventilation and other safety equipment

• Apply paint, stain, and other finishes to paint surfaces using paintbrushes, rollers, or sprayers

Mortar

• Mix and match colors according to job specifications

• Prepare and foam mortar

• Apply mortar according to job specifications

Carpentry

• Install wooden structures, including trim, siding, and fascia

• Add fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges, and closures

• Select lumber by size and strength to suit each job, sourcing wood to suit the customer’s job specifications

• Calculate the number of fasteners required for each job

Electrical

• Install electrical equipment such as lights, plug covers, and door bells

• Inspect and secure electrical components, including cables and conduits

• Use testing devices to identify and report electrical problems

• Use hand and power tools

General Duties & Responsibilities

• Communicate professionally, clearly, and proactively with clients, coworkers, project managers, and independent contractors

• Clean job site at least daily, including running a magnet over the entire property to collect nails

• Maintain an inventory of supplies

• Clean and maintain equipment according to company standards

• Review and implement work orders and assignments

• Follow safety policies and procedures

• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Construction problem-solving skills

• Strong verbal communication skills

• Ability to perform extension and step ladder work

• Ability to work outside and tolerate exposure to head, sun and cold

Preferred Skills

• Minor tile repair and grout

• Caulking

• Windows and/or Hardie Siding

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record

• Prolonged periods standing, climbing ladders, bending, and kneeling

• Physically able to perform punch list and service tasks for window, door, and siding projects

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
