Civil Project Engineer (PE)
Southwest Engineering & Design (SED) is seeking a Civil Project Engineer (PE) for our Punta Gorda or Lakeland, Florida office. This position focuses on land development projects including site grading, stormwater management, utilities, permitting, and construction plan preparation.
Role Overview
Full-time, in-office Project Engineer responsible for designing and preparing civil engineering construction plans. The ideal candidate has relevant experience and strong knowledge of grading, drainage, stormwater, utilities, and site design.
Key Responsibilities
- Civil/site design including utilities, storm drainage, and grading
- Stormwater management and utility design
- Earthwork calculations
- Quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
- Code compliance review
- Permit applications and agency submittal packages
Required Skills & Experience
- Florida PE license
- AutoCAD or Civil 3D proficiency
- Experience with grading, water, sewer, and stormwater design
- Experience with ICPR stormwater modeling software
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Experience
- Florida permitting and development regulations
- Septic system design
