Driver Operator – Elko, NV

Starting rate $33.73/hour

Hours per shift: Monday through Thursday / 10 Hours a day

Overtime Required: 10%-20%

Operator/Driver Ratio: 50% Ops / 50% Driver

We are hiring Class A CDL Drivers with Hazmat Endorsements to work in the exciting explosive industry. Our company provides explosives and explosives related services to the quarry, construction, and mining industries in the Western United States. Responsible for the safe and efficient manufacturing of bulk emulsion products. Duties include loading finished products into trucks from overhead silos and unloading raw materials into storage tanks. The role also involves manufacturing bagged ANFO, loading trailers for shipment, performing minor maintenance on vehicles and equipment, and moving vehicles throughout the facility as needed. The position requires maintaining accurate records of production, loading activities, and maintenance using required forms and reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operate bulk manufacturing modules to produce emulsion products in accordance with company procedures and safety standards.

Manufacture bagged ANFO and prepare finished product for shipment.

Load finished products into trucks and unload raw materials into designated storage tanks.

Load trailers for shipment and ensure proper documentation is completed.

Perform minor maintenance on vehicles and operational equipment as required.

Move and position vehicles throughout the facility as needed to support operations.

Maintain accurate records of production, loading activities, and maintenance performed.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out

instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems

involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Possible exposure to temperature extremes, dust,

hazardous materials, wildlife and working in and around moving equipment.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT REQUIRED: Hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe boots, gloves, high

visibility clothing, and weather protection

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an

employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use

hands to manipulate, handle or feel substances, objects, tools, or controls; and talk or

hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee

is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb or balance; and also stoop, kneel, crouch or

crawl.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift

and/or move up to 50 pounds. Visual abilities required by this job include close vision,

distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
