Purpose:
This person will work on and maintain the company's medium and heavy construction Divisions equipment, working on different tasks regularly, also training operators correct maintenance practices and procedures to maintain their equipment properly. Use problem solving skills to reach a solution including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and disassembly of diesel engines, cooling systems and their coolers, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, brake systems, electrical systems, computer-controlled components and much more.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintenance and repair of our modern high-tech fleet of medium and heavy construction equipment.
- Properly documenting deficiencies and repairs made.
- Working knowledge of Cat, Deutz, Volvo, John Deere, Case, Kubota engine components is required.
- Test, inspect, troubleshoot to assess condition and diagnose the equipment and repair properly.
- Perform scheduled maintenance.
- Troubleshoot, adjust, disassemble, and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, cooling systems, fuel systems, a/c systems, and brake systems on fleet construction equipment (skid steers, excavators, loaders, equip work tools and more).
- Adjust or repair heavy equip operating systems, hydraulic components and wiring systems and more.
- Troubleshoot, repair, adjust, replace, and rewire electrical system components, such as starting, lights, and electrical controls, including troubleshoot computer-controlled components.
- Field repairs will be necessary when equipment is on-site during construction projects.
- Work in conjunction with other shop and jobsite personnel.
- Maintain safe and clean work area and company work truck wear and use all appropriate PPE required.
- Must possess or obtain tools for work.
- Work 40 hours per week.
Requirements:
- Six (6) years of experience in maintenance and repair of diesel components, medium and heavy construction equipment
- Valid driver license with good driving record
- ASE certification or accredited technical school helpful but not required
- Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds
- Requires knowledge of materials, parts, tools, and basic principles to repair construction equipment
- Availability to work overtime including weekends if needed
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience preferred
- Graduated or attending classes from an accredited technical school preferred
