Concrete Laborer
Southwest Concrete Paving is an established concrete paving company specializing in military airfield construction across the western United States. The Concrete Laborer is responsible for general laborer duties at the jobsite and performs tasks involving physical labor for concrete construction projects. The job duties of a Concrete Laborer may include cleaning/ preparing a job site, loading and delivering materials, and using a variety of tools and machines. Working as part of a collaborative jobsite team, you will gain comprehensive experience across all facets of concrete paving
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Operate equipment & hand/power tools such as forklifts, levels, lifts, power drills, grinders, saws, pressure washers, and water spraying equipment
- Set rebar, dowels, forms, and other construction materials as assigned
- Set braces and concrete forms
- Clean up rubble and debris and remove waste materials
- Assist other craft workers
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be willing to travel up to 100%
- Must be available to work all shifts including days, nights, and/or weekends
- Must be able to work in conditions with loud noise; work on/around heavy/moving machinery; bend, walk, stand and sit for extended time; and use hand tools
- Must be able to lift objects weighing 80 lb. or more on a regular basis
- Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Fluent in English and Spanish (preferred)
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in concrete demolition, earthwork, finishing subgrade, and underground PVC pipe work is preferred.
In addition to a competitive salary of $28.00 per hour, Davis Bacon Rates apply on participating projects.
