Position Overview
Southwest Honda, GMC & Buick is seeking a dependable and hardworking Automotive Detailer / Lot Porter to join our dealership team. This position is responsible for cleaning and preparing vehicles for customers, maintaining the appearance and organization of the dealership lot, and assisting with the movement of vehicles throughout the property.
The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, pays close attention to detail, and can work efficiently in a fast-paced dealership environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Wash, dry, vacuum, and thoroughly clean new and pre-owned vehicles
- Detail vehicle interiors, including seats, carpets, dashboards, windows, and door panels
- Clean and polish vehicle exteriors, wheels, tires, and trim
- Remove stickers, protective coverings, debris, and other materials from vehicles
- Inspect completed vehicles to ensure they meet dealership cleanliness standards
- Move and park vehicles safely throughout the dealership property
- Maintain an organized and professional-looking vehicle lot
- Arrange vehicles according to dealership instructions
- Keep vehicle inventory properly parked, clean, and ready for customers
- Assist the sales and service departments with vehicle transportation as needed
- Retrieve vehicles for customers, sales personnel, and service personnel
- Keep the detail area, wash bay, equipment, and supplies clean and organized
- Follow all dealership safety procedures and vehicle-handling policies
- Perform other dealership-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to safely operate both automatic and manual-transmission vehicles
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality standards
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Previous automotive detailing experience is preferred but not required
- Willingness to learn dealership detailing procedures
- ABILITY TO PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK and any required pre-employment screening
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals, buffers, vacuums, pressure washers, and other detailing equipment
Schedule
This is a full-time position. Applicants must have dependable transportation and be available to work a flexible dealership schedule, including some Saturdays.
