As a SBH Chef your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner based on a planned menu.
- Basic kitchen maintenance including: Proper dating, organization, and rotation of food product. Cleaning and organization of counters, shelves, and storage space. Inventory of food product for weekly ordering.
- Labeling of food product for later prep and service.
- Will follow menus designed to meet basic nutritional guidelines, menus are prepared 4 weeks in advance.
- Should be involved in any discussions related to meals, kitchen or menu planning.
- Prepares for all required inspections making sure all areas are up to code and maintain a professional image.
- To ensure compliance & adequate services, additional job duties may be required to meet the needs of the program and or department.
This position reports to the Inpatient Program in Kingman, it a Monday-Friday Schedule Day shift.
Pay: $20.00/hourly
Education & Qualifications
- Requires a high school diploma or associate culinary degree or equivalent diploma in food preparation.
- Two years of experience as an assistant facility cook highly preferred
- Food manager certification also highly preferred
- Must have knowledge of the population served. Experience and knowledge of meal preparation, menu planning, inventory, ordering, portion control, and kitchen maintenance.
- Knowledge of food safety and storage safety also essential.
- Current Food Handlers card required and Servsafe Certification preferred.
- Food Manager Certification will need to be completed upon being hired.
