What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds / Floating Maintenance position at Southwest Allen County Schools?

This is a 12 month position and eligible for benefits. Pay ranges between $19.70 - $27.24/hour and is based on experience, education, etc.
Purpose
Independently performs all grounds and landscaping functions. Provides assistance and support to other Maintenance and Operations staff in performing a variety of tasks based on vacancies and district needs.
Qualifications
Minimum of five years of experience in the fields of grounds/landscaping and general repairs, including at least two years of experience in one of the following areas: carpentry, plumbing, electrical repair and maintenance, HVAC repair, mechanical repair and painting. An equivalent combination of experience and training would be considered. Demonstrated maintenance and landscaping aptitude with the knowledge to use hand tools, machines and other grounds/maintenance equipment, such as tractors, mowers, forklifts, floor machines, vacuums, etc. is required. Ability to work independently, with little to no supervision, and supervise staff as needed. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions with ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, contractors and the general public. Must be able to work in a team environment and provide guidance, instruction and training to staff. Must have a good understanding of the IOSHA safety rules and standards. Must hold a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.

Salary : $20 - $27
