What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Manager - Public Accounting - Remote position at Southwest Accounting Resources, Inc?
As a Tax Manager you'll be part of a small team experienced CPAs and EA's. You'll review all things tax, take charge of engagements, supervise and mentor your team, and build long-term relationships with our clients. This role is 100% remote (must live in USA).

- Reviewing individual, partnership and corporate tax returns prepared by tax staff and/or seniors for accuracy; mainly S-corps and their owners.
- Researching and drafting memorandum involving complex tax matters
- Identifying and implementing tax planning opportunities
- Handling and resolving tax disagreements
- Overseeing complete tax research projects
- Managing multiple engagements concurrently to efficiently meet client deadlines
- Lead the employment lifecycle for your team members from recruiting to performance management.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- CPA license or EA is required.
- 5 years’ experience in reviewing tax returns
- 5 years’ experience managing staff
- 5 years’ experience in a public accounting tax group
- 2 years’ tax prep experience for high net worth individuals, S-Corps and thier owners
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
