What are the responsibilities and job description for the Meds to Beds Pharmacy Technician position at Southwell, Inc.?
* Works directly with Case Managers, Nurses, Physicians and other Pharmacy staff to troubleshoot any issues requiring intervention such as prior authorizations or prescription clarifications.
* Works with all members of a patient's healthcare team to ensure prescriptions are delivered to the bedside in advance of discharge.
* Utilizes the Meds2Beds software to identify potential patients upon admission, explains the benefits of the bedside delivery program, and encourages/facilitates participation by minimizing barriers participation.
* Communicates with Southwell Pharmacy and external pharmacies to streamline patient experience and maximize medication adherence.
* Identifies payor sources for medications (i.e. insurance coverage, manufacturer copay cards, foundation copay assistance, etc.)
* Attends daily Collaborative Care Rounds and other meetings as needed.
* Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician scope of practice to the appropriate provider (MD, DO, NP, PA, RN, RPh, etc.)
* Displays understanding and proficiency with medication reimbursement through third party payors, insurance billing, and the prior authorization process.
* Educates providers and patients on Meds2Beds Pharmacy Technician services and how these services enhance patient care.
* Serves as the lead contact for patients and providers regarding prescription medication delivery services.
* Adheres to all regulatory, safety, and quality standards related to pharmacy practice and medication handling.
* Facilitates and participates in the training of new Meds2Beds Pharmacy Technicians.
* Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for Meds2Beds.
* Acts as support staff in the pharmacy when needed or when assigned or requested by management.
* Supports documentation of medication delivery activities in patient records and assists with reporting to the pharmacy team.* Registered Pharmacy Technician in the State of Georgia
* 1 year experience with primary role working with Meds2Beds or equivalent
