Under general supervision, the Medical Assistant is responsible for providing patient care services, determining medical conditions, and preparing patients for examination and treatment under the direction of the Provider.

- Prepare patients for examination, records vital signs and history, and provides treatment as applicable
- Prepares exam/treatment rooms; select, setup, sterilize, and maintain medical supplies and equipment for procedures
- Prepare and administer injections, change dressings, and facilitate wound management under providers orders
- Collect blood, tissue, and other laboratory specimens through routine in-house testing procedures, and analyze and prepare for testing, log results, and perform lab call-backs
- Document basic patient care and procedures, utilizing appropriate forms and electronic medical records
- Schedule patients for tests, initial, and follow-up appointments if applicable in care setting
- Instructs patients and family regarding treatment and medication instructions
- Collaborate, take direction, and initiate actions that will allow the assumption of cross-functional team actions to ensure seamless patient care
- Phlebotomy
- Perform opening/closing clinic duties and patient call backs
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Trained in FormFox / updates
- Urinalysis

- Hold a certificate and perform drug screens and BAT (for Occ Med Hub Clinics
- Positive Breath Alcohol Protocol
- “Non-Negative” quick screen protocol
- Unacceptable DS Protocol
- Urinalysis spin
- Prepare patients for examination, records vital signs.
- Ensure all paperwork is completed properly
- Assisting patient transfer from bed/x-ray table to and from wheelchair
- Pulmonary Function Test
- Respirator Fit Test – Qualitative/Quantitative
- Respiratory Clearance only
- Paperwork completion for the following physicals: CDL, Routine, USCG, Hazmat, Crane Operator, OGUK
- Prepares exam/treatment rooms; maintain medical supplies and equipment for procedures
- Perform QC checks on equipment and testing supplies
- Can serve as a resource when other staff members have questions
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent is required.
- Certificate/License: Current Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following programs is preferred (RMA, AAMA, NCCT, CMAC, AMCA). Current BLS certification is required.
- Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of relevant Occupational Medicine experience is preferred
