Position Overview
The Controller will be responsible for managing all financial functions of the practice, including reporting, compliance, budgeting, and team leadership. This role requires a strong background in healthcare finance, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with executive leadership to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and reports.
- Monitor cash flow, manage accounts payable/receivable, and oversee payroll through Paychex.
- Manage and maintain the Sage 100 accounting software system.
- Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
- Partner with leadership to align financial strategies with organizational goals.
- Provide recommendations to optimize profitability and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and healthcare-specific financial regulations.
- Manage audits, tax filings, and regulatory submissions.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Supervise and mentor accounting/finance team members, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and healthcare-specific financial practices.
- Proficiency with Sage 100 accounting software and financial management systems.
- Experience overseeing payroll systems, preferably Paychex.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proven leadership and team-building experience.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management systems.
- Experience with revenue cycle management in healthcare settings.
