Duties
- Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures including animal restraint, catheterization, and laboratory testing to ensure smooth operations and accurate diagnostics
- Perform animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, grooming, pet care, and maintaining cleanliness in kennels and treatment areas
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques, dog training skills, and animal handling experience to minimize stress and ensure safety for both animals and staff
- Operate laboratory equipment for diagnostic testing, including blood work or other samples, utilizing your laboratory experience
- Assist with pet care education for clients, and basic animal physiology knowledge to support overall wellness programs
Requirements
- Experience in veterinary critical care settings or veterinary technician roles is highly desirable (at least 1 yr)
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology, X-ray operation, laboratory procedures, and aseptic techniques
- Ability to handle dogs and cats confidently.
- Excellent animal restraint skills along with understanding of veterinary procedures such as catheterization and sample collection
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively within a team environment and provide exceptional pet care education to clients
