Processing Technician

Southside Processing is currently looking for a full time Processing Technician. 

This position is eligible for full time benefits that will include health, dental, vision and vacation and sick leave.

Primary Functions:

1. Raw Material Preparation
2. Hang sausage to be smoked for orders.
3. Package fresh product for orders.
4. Sanitation of all equipment and areas used in job position

Primary Responsibilities and Activities:

1. Fresh Product Packaging
   1. Cut tripe on band saw to specs. and place into plastic tub
   2. Remove bull meat from boxes and place into plastic tub
   3. Remove bagged plates, place into tub and add cold water for thawing
2. Hanging sausage for smoking
   1. Set-up carts and sticks (35 per cart) for hanging according to schedule
   2. Hang smoked product on individual sticks and place one space apart with 19 loops per stick.
   3. Roll finished carts into fresh cooler.
3. Fresh product packaging
   1. Set-up area with necessary tools: boxes, bags, labels, stamp and tags
   2. Package fresh sausage according to individual customer specs.
   3. Weigh each box to customer orders: zero underweight and max .10 over
   4. Stack boxes to be picked for orders.

4) Wash, scrub and sanitize all equipment and areas used for daily processing.

Skills and Experienced Required:

1. Willingness to work and capacity to learn.
2. Prior plant or warehouse experience preferred.
3. Experience working in a USDA facility preferred.
4. Bilingual preferred.

Qualifications:

1. Related work experience.
2. Strong skills in working with people.
3. Cooperative, strong work ethic, positive attitude, professional demeanor.
4. Ability to discern problems and devise solutions.
5. Present a professional bearing and appearance.

Physical Demands:

1. Ability to lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
2. Ability to work in hot and/or cold temperatures.
