FLSA: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Principal
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: A full contract for this position is 200 days, with benefits as specified in employee contract. Contract will be prorated based on the actual start date.
BEGINNING: July 27, 2026
LOCATION: Southside High School
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must meet AR licensure requirements.
- Administrator licensure, preferred.
- Master’s Degree, preferred.
- Relevant years of successful experience as a classroom teacher required.
- Effective leadership skills and experiences.
- Proven background in instruction, assessment, and professional development.
- Satisfactory computer skills and strong interpersonal skills.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assists campus administration in the general administration of the school.
- Enforces guidelines to maintain proper discipline and conduct.
- Assist with developing and administering policies regarding discipline, conduct, and attendance.
- Assists campus administration in maintaining standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere and effective participation in all activities.
- Communicates relevant policies and procedures with regard to student discipline, conduct, and attendance to students, staff, and parents.
- Plans and implements programs designed to develop student character and discipline in accordance with district and school standards.
- Confers with and advises parents on matters of student behavior and the implementation of effective programs related to student discipline. Meets and confers with parents and school personnel in developing alternative solutions to student attendance and discipline problems and concerns.
- Creates and monitors student intervention plans. Responsible for mitigating student attendance problems.
- Maintains a liaison with social service and youth service agencies in pursuing referral follow-ups.
- Works with and assists faculty in the development of effective classroom discipline and organization.
- Collaborates with campus administration to develop procedures designed to enhance the safety of students and staff and to promote the security of property and equipment.
- Maintains an effective and safe school environment.
- Assists in implementing emergency evacuations and lock-downs effectively.
- Assists with preparing required reports and paperwork such as discipline reports, suspension reports, expulsion paperwork, discrimination complaints, injury reports, parent communications, and other paperwork as assigned.
- Assists in the preparation of appropriate handbooks.
- Works as a team member to meet the system-wide needs of the district.
- Holds the responsibility for the welfare of all students during school hours.
- Assists with parent night activities and overall student supervision.
- Attends meetings and performs duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors, including after school faculty meetings
- Follows all TESS rubric “proficient” level expectations for their role
- Supervises students on recess, bus, during before and after school duty, on field trips, extracurricular events, and in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day
- Carries out duty as assigned, including after school or before school duties
- Maintains prompt and regular attendance and demonstrates the ability to maintain positive professional working relationships with others
- Maintain emotional control under stress
- Abide by state statutes, school board policies, and regulations
- Performs other duties as assigned by Building and District Administrators.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
- Must have the ability to lift at least 40 pounds occasionally.
- May be required to physically move students or equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to endure prolonged standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, occasional reaching above the head or the shoulders, bending, and squatting.
