SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Early Education Principal, the Early Education Physical Education teacher will effectively teach from a biblical worldview while managing a classroom and building positive relationships with students and parents.

- Effectively manage students in the gym during PE.
- Teach all physical education from a biblical worldview and with excellence.
- Create an engaging, relational, and joy-filled learning environment with the students.
- Provide excellence in planning, teamwork, and communication.
- Be creative, have a strong work ethic, and think "outside the box".
- Work in a team-centered environment.
- Other duties or responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
- Must be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ; be involved with an evangelical, protestant church of like faith and practice; and agree with the philosophies, Statement of Faith, and Statement of Christian Life Commitment of Southside Christian School.
- Have a commitment to the mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives of Christian schooling as expressed by Southside Christian School demonstrated by their eligible children enrolled in Southside Christian School.
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or physical education is required.
- Candidates with experience in teaching early childhood are preferred.
- All candidates must be willing to obtain ACSI certification.
- Strong communication and presentation skills are required.
- Must adhere to DSS regulations including 15 professional development hours per year.
- Ability to evacuate students in the event of emergency.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to demonstrate physical activities, including running, jumping, balancing, throwing, and stretching.
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and sit on the floor to interact with young children.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment and occasionally assist children (typically up to 25–50 pounds).
- Ability to react quickly to ensure student safety during physical activities.
