Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Loan Officer Assistant to join our mortgage team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in loan origination and/or LOA and/or processing, with a keen understanding of mortgage servicing and underwriting. As a Loan Officer Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting clients through the loan process, structuring loans, problem-solving, and providing exceptional customer service.
Duties
- Evaluate and analyze clients' financial information to determine loan eligibility.
- Guide clients through the loan origination process, explaining terms and conditions clearly.
- Assist loan officers with solutions-based thinking to help originate loans.
- Utilize financial software and accounting tools to manage loan applications efficiently.
- Conduct credit analysis to assess risk and recommend appropriate loan products.
- Ensure compliance with TILA (Truth in Lending Act) and FNMA (Federal National Mortgage Association) guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions and client communications.
- Collaborate with loan officers, underwriters, and other financial professionals to facilitate smooth transactions.
- Provide ongoing support to clients throughout the mortgage servicing process.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Loan Officer, Loan Officer Assistant, or Mortgage Processor.
- Strong knowledge of mortgage products, underwriting processes, and loan processing systems.
- Familiarity with Fair Housing regulations and compliance standards.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Trainable in using financial software.
- Basic math skills for accurate calculations related to loans and interest rates.
- Ability to work efficiently with contracts, banking procedures, and title/escrow processes.
- Strong analytical skills for conducting credit analysis and assessing financial data.
- Effective communication skills to explain information clearly to clients.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Base Pay: $36,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
