Southport Boats is seeking an experienced Marine Electrical & Mechanical Technician to join our growing production team. If you take pride in building world-class boats and enjoy solving complex electrical and mechanical challenges, we'd like to meet you.
What You'll Do
- Install and troubleshoot 12V, 24V, and 120VAC marine electrical systems
- Install marine electronics including Garmin, Simrad, and Raymarine equipment
- Build and test wiring harnesses, switch panels, batteries, charging systems, and NMEA 2000 networks
- Install pumps, plumbing, steering, trim tabs, fuel systems, and other onboard mechanical systems
- Read wiring diagrams and schematics
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues during production and sea trials
- Perform final quality inspections to ensure every Southport meets our standards
Qualifications
- 3 years of marine electrical or marine mechanical experience preferred
- ABYC Certification (Electrical or Systems) preferred
- NMEA Certification or marine electronics installation experience is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of AC/DC electrical systems
- Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and technical drawings
- Experience with modern marine electronics and networking
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Positive attitude with a commitment to quality craftsmanship
