Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with general accounting and financial reporting.
- Analyze expenses and variances to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Process invoices, payments, and expense reports per company policies.
- Assist with customer invoicing, payment applications, and collections as needed.
- Assist with the preparation of regulatory tax filings and other regulatory reporting requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting software and systems.
- Perform various administrative duties including answering phone calls, daily mail etc.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 to 3 years of accounting experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Products. Moderate Excel. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting. Experienced in computerized accounting software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Work Environment
- Office setting with occasional interaction with other departments.
- Standard business hours, with the potential for extended hours during peak periods (e.g., month-end and year-end close).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting of office materials (up to 15 lbs.).
The Accounting Associate reports directly to the Controller and supports financial operations by processing daily, weekly and monthly activity and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
