Role Description The Pharmacy Clerk/Cashier is a full-time, on-site role based in Fargo, ND. This position is responsible for greeting customers, answering basic questions, and providing courteous service at the pharmacy counter. Daily tasks include processing prescription pickups, handling cash and electronic payments, managing the point-of-sale system, and issuing receipts. The clerk/cashier helps maintain store cleanliness, restocks shelves, and assists with organizing front-end merchandise. The role also involves verifying customer information for prescriptions and directing clinical questions to pharmacists.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and respectfully with a diverse range of patients.
- Basic cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) experience, including accurate transaction processing and reconciliation.
- Reliable organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy when handling prescriptions, patient information, and pharmacy documentation.
- Comfort with basic computer use and data entry; experience with pharmacy or retail software is preferred.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate-weight items, and maintain a clean, orderly workspace.
- Prior retail, pharmacy, or healthcare support experience is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent; willingness to complete any required on-the-job training or certifications.
