Position Overview:
We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Overnight Veterinary Assistant to support our urgent care team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and enjoys working with both traditional and exotic patients. The successful candidate will have experience and education with dogs and cats, with exotic patient experience preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with urgent and emergency exams, procedures, and treatments
- Monitor and care for hospitalized patients, including feeding and administering medications
- Obtain vital signs and assist with laboratory diagnostics and radiology
- Communicate clearly with clients during urgent situations
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Keep treatment areas clean, organized, and fully stocked
- Support the team during overnight emergencies
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with dogs and cats required; exotic experience preferred
- Ability to safely handle and restrain animals of all sizes and species
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced urgent care environment
- Willingness to work overnight shifts
- Commitment to professionalism and high-quality patient care
