Responsibilities
- Manage daily office operations including filing, correspondence, and scheduling to keep the workplace organized and efficient
- Perform bookkeeping duties such as data entry, bank reconciliations, and ledger maintenance using accounting software like QuickBooks Desktop
- Prepare and process journal entries, accounts payable and receivable, and expense reports with accuracy and attention to detail
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and perform balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental accounting requirements as needed
- Generate financial reports including income statements, cash flow statements, and budget analysis to support management decision-making
- Support audit preparations by maintaining organized financial records and documentation of account reconciliations
Requirements
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles with familiarity in corporate or non-profit accounting environments
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms; experience with GAAP standards is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and general ledger accounting
- Ability to perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, and account reconciliation accurately
- Excellent organizational skills with proficiency in 10-key typing and data entry accuracy
- Knowledge of governmental accounting practices and tax regulations is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to communicate financial information clearly through written reports and summaries
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a busy office setting while maintaining attention to detail
