As our Peer Support Peer Bridger, you will provide individualized, strengths-focused, community-based interactions with assigned caseload for the purpose of promoting the development of wellness self-management, personal recovery, natural supports, coping skills, and self-advocacy skills and development of independent living skills for housing, employment, and full community inclusion.
The Peer Bridger serves as a connector between the crisis based facility and community based MH/SUD providers, assisting individuals with navigating intake processes, accessing benefits resources, and locating community programs to assist with social determinants of health needs that could be barriers to connecting with supportive services post crisis based facility discharge.
Interested but not yet certified? We offer a Peer Support Scholarship Program in which we can assist you in obtaining certification upon hire AND cover the cost! We also provide mileage reimbursement!
Pay
Starting pay is $18.00 per hour.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.
Flexible, based on you and your clients' needs.

After 6 months employees are eligible to enroll in our 401(k) plan which has a 4% match. Company paid life insurance, short and long term disability, in house and paid training opportunities, and additional pay for working holidays. SouthLight provides mileage reimbursement.

Founded in 1970, SouthLight Healthcare is one of the area's largest and long-established nonprofit providers of substance use treatment and mental health services. With outpatient and community-based programs, SouthLight provides prevention, education and treatment services in the Triangle and beyond. SouthLight has multiple office locations throughout the Triangle area, serving more than 9,000 clients each year. Services include adult outpatient counseling, Intensive Outpatient Program, Psychiatric Services and Medication Management, Opioid Treatment Program, Court Deferral Program, Peer Support Services, Family Centered Treatment, Community Support Team and a residential treatment program for women and children and more.

Job Responsibilities of a Certified Peer Support Peer Bridger
- Be embedded in community partner's place of service for agreed on time period each day, building rapport and encouraging post-discharge engagement in services
- Promotes independent living skills through modeling, feedback, support to individuals around housing needs
- Assist clients with self-determination and decision-making
- Model recovery values, attitudes, beliefs, and personal action to encourage wellness
- Teach and promote self-advocacy and wellness management
- Provide linkage to community resources
- Maintain and submit required documentation (treatment plans, WRAP, service notes, service authorization requests)
- Current Peer Support Certification (we can help you obtain upon hire!)
- Valid driver's license with good driving record
- HS diploma or GED
- Min of 1 year working with the adult Mental Health/Substance Use population, preferably in a community setting
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Records
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to frequent change in work flow based on client need and service structure
