Southland Restaurant and Catering is looking for a reliable and experienced Catering Manager to help lead our growing in-house catering operations. This is a fast-paced, hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives under pressure, has a deep understanding of Southern cuisine, and knows how to manage large food orders and events with precision and hospitality from time of prep to finished product ready for pick up or delivery.
What You’ll Do:
- Respond to all catering inquiries (email and phone) quickly and professionally
- Enter and manage catering orders in our POS system (Toast or similar)
- Collect payments and apply to invoices
- Help plan and execute bulk catering order pick ups, deliveries, and large group orders
- Oversee large-batch food prep, portion planning, and packaging
- Supervise and assist staff during event prep, deliveries, and service
- Problem-solve day-of challenges (timing, staffing, equipment, etc.)
- Maintain inventory, equipment, vehicles, and event readiness
- Display and price retail items for sale in our customer pick up areas.
- Ensure ServSafe and food safety compliance at all times
Who We’re Looking For:
- 2 years catering or restaurant experience (supervisory or lead role preferred)
- Comfortable with Southern-style cooking and portion scaling for groups
- Batch food prep for large orders
- Proficient in POS systems and payment handling
- Proficient with email communication, invoicing, and scheduling.
- Excellent organization with attention to time and date scheduling.
- Calm under pressure with excellent time management and communication skills
- Able to lift 50 lbs and work flexible hours (including mornings, weekends, and event nights)
- ServSafe Manager Certified (or willing to obtain within 30 days)
- Valid driver’s license required
