Job Overview
The Aquarium Fish Catcher plays a vital role in the management and care of aquatic life within an aquarium setting. This position involves the safe and humane capture of fish for aquarium stores. We are a wholesaler for premium pet stores in the USA. The ideal candidate will be able to learn about the various fish and catching techniques, work at a steady pace and be able to work on their feet (except for breaks and lunch of course!)
Duties
- Safely capture and handle various species of fish using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Work with the warehouse team at the end of each week to prepare new tanks for new imported fish.
- Perform heavy lifting as required when moving boxes of fish.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Willingness to learn other duties including packing.
- Live within a reasonable commuting distance to the LAX airport area.
Skills
- Ability to learn about the freshwater aquarium hobby
- Able to work on your feet and climb up steps and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Should be fit and there is a personal weight limit of 200lbs due to the limitations of the aquarium wood structures.
- Prior knowledge of aquarium fish would be great but not necessary
- Must be able to read and speak English
