APPLICANTS
Southlake Christian Academy is accepting applications for a full-time Lower School Teacher for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. The immediate vacancy will be in 2nd Grade. The current incumbent is pursuing a promotional career opportunity in another state. We are recruiting for the position in an expedient manner. This recruitment may be used to fill immediate and future vacancies in the lower school.

DEADLINE
Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis until we receive an acceptable number of qualified candidates. Failure to answer the supplemental questions will result in disqualification. All application materials will be evaluated to determine the most qualified candidates.
INTERVIEWS
Finalists will be invited to the next round in the selection process, which may include one or more rounds of interviews and a classroom teaching demonstration. The first round of interviews is anticipated in December 2025.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Candidates should have experience working with lower school students in individual and group settings. Candidates must be professional and supportive. The ideal candidate will help build a secure learning environment where each student that enters feel safe and confident. They will foster strong connections with each student to prepare them to flourish spiritually, intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment.
1. Be competent in classroom management and exhibit a proficiency in the instruction of subject matter area at the lower school level (JK–5th grade).
2. Demonstrate the ability to inspire learning and cultivate relationships with students.
3. Prepare appropriate weekly lesson plans including instructional objectives, planned activities, Biblical integration, assessments, and resources.
4. Incorporate effective classroom management and discipline procedures to provide for a positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
5. Be proficient in Google Workspace for managing assignments and grades.
6. Regularly review and update course curriculum guide/maps to assure the fulfillment of proper instructional priorities and pacing.
7. Model effective teacher/parent partnering through timely communication with parents in support of student learning.
8. Give evidence of a Biblical worldview and a personal spiritual commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
9. Be committed to and in agreement with the philosophy and objectives of SouthLake Christian Academy.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Fouryear college degree in related content field.
- Teacher certification preferred but not required

COMPENSATION
Salary is negotiable based on individual qualifications. The entry-level salary is $45,300.
