Role Overview
The Southington Regional Chamber of Commerce—one of Southern New England’s largest independent business organizations—is seeking a high-caliber Membership Programs and Events Coordinator. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, you will drive membership growth, execute high-profile community events, and spearhead the Chamber’s multi-channel communications. We are looking for a strategic, hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced, public-facing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Event Management: End-to-end execution of signature programs, including the Annual Golf Tournament, Awards Gala, Wing Fest Competition, and monthly networking series.
- Revenue Generation: Identify and secure corporate sponsorships and advertising for Chamber publications.
- Strategic Communication: Curate original social media content (Facebook/Instagram), manage e-marketing via Constant Contact, and coordinate the monthly Chamber newspaper.
- Member Relations: Provide professional and individualized customer service to current members and actively recruit new businesses to strengthen the local economic climate.
- Administration: Maintain CRM integrity and support daily operations to ensure organizational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional experience in event planning, fundraising, or business development within a Chamber of Commerce, non-profit, or corporate environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Expert-level command of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PPT), CRM systems, WordPress, Canva, and Constant Contact. Mid-level experience with Adobe Creative Suite/Photoshop.
- Communication: Exceptional original writing and public speaking skills. Note: We prioritize authentic, human-generated content over AI-assisted writing.
- Soft Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously, adapt to shifting priorities, and engage professionally with community stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant internships considered for recent graduates.
