Work Schedule:
Varies based on client’s needs
Under the supervision of the Health and Wellness Program Director, the Personal Trainer serves as a knowledgeable instructor in areas such as general fitness, flexibility, and the basic strength training principles.
Requirements:
The incumbent must have the following, and keep current:
· Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification
· Current Personal Training Instructor Certification from accredited organization (NASM, ACE, ACSM, ISSA, NSCA, etc)
· Obtain continuing education Credits (CECS) as required to maintain certifications
In addition, the incumbent must possess the following qualities:
· Strong communication skills
· Ability to lead and motivate others
· Ability to work with and relate to all people
· Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations
· Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Instruct, supervise, and provide positive encouragement to YMCA members and personal training clients.
· Use a personal approach to design an individual training program for members. The training program should be based on each client’s goals, current physical condition, and time schedule.
· Ensure that each client’s training program is safe, effective an enjoyable.
· Continuously follow and promote the YMCA philosophy.
· Promote the YMCA by personal example and verbal communication.
· Inform YMCA leadership of any equipment problems.
· Provide input into programming for purpose of improvement.
· Cross-promote existing YMCA programs.
· Increase participant awareness of all healthy lifestyle factors.
· Ensure all training programs are safe and effective and meet the needs of the personal training client(s).
· Adherence to all policies and procedures related to child abuse prevention

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
