What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Porter - Large Ford Dealership position at Southgate Ford?
Southgate Ford is looking for a dependable and motivated Service Porter to join our growing team. In this position you will play a critical part in moving, parking, and preparing customer vehicles, assisting technicians and service advisors and ensuring the service drive and customer areas remain clean, safe, and welcoming.
The ideal candidate is dependable, customer-focused, takes direction well and enjoys working in a fast-paced team-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely move customer and dealership vehicles between the service drive, parking lots and service shop.
- Maintain an organized inventory of customer vehicles.
- Keep the service drive, parking lots, customer waiting areas and shop entrances clean and free of debris.
- Assist Service Advisors and Technicians with vehicle transportation and general operational support.
- Monitor parking areas and assist with snow removal, salting, or other seasonal maintenance as needed.
- Report to Service Managers – upward mobility for motivated candidates.
- Full time position – 40 hour work week.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required);
- Ability to operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles is considered an asset;
- Strong attention to detail and a positive attitude;
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a high-volume environment;
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions;
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and remain on your feet for long periods.
