What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Park Ranger position at Southfield, City of (MI)?
Responsible for opening and closing parks. Patrol parks by vehicle and foot and provide security for all City Park trails.
Set-up and take down tables, chairs and displays, and perform light maintenance and cleaning.
Provide information to park users, enforce park rules and clean loose trash and overflowing garbage cans.
Serve as a source of information to park and recreation facility visitors.
Strives to ensure the safety of each and every park and recreation facility for visitors.
Maintains communication and report problems in the parks immediately to the appropriate authorities.
Enforce city ordinances and recreation department policies and procedures as required in the parks.
Completes reports as required such as daily logs, vehicle safety checks, incident and accident reports, and other necessary documentation and reports.
Acts as a liaison between the department and users of the parks and recreation facilities.
May be asked to perform other duties related to the day-to-day operation of the department.
Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
Must be 18 years of age.
Must have a valid Michigan driver's license with a good driving record to drive a city vehicle to and from all parks.
Must also be able to operate a golf cart and do extensive walking over all types of terrain, in all types of weather.
Ability to communicate via cell phone.
