Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented GPR Locator to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will utilize advanced ground-penetrating radar (GPR) technology to accurately locate underground utilities and infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure safe and efficient excavation and construction activities, helping to prevent costly damages and project delays. Duties

• Operate ground-penetrating radar (GPR) equipment and utility locating devices to identify underground utilities such as cables, pipes, and other infrastructure.
• Interpret site plans, blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to accurately mark underground utilities in accordance with project specifications.
• Conduct utility marking on construction sites using appropriate tools and techniques, ensuring clear communication of utility locations to all team members.
• Perform vacuum excavation for utility detection when necessary, utilizing safe excavation practices to verify utility positions without damaging infrastructure.
• Maintain detailed records of utility locations, markings, and field observations for project documentation and future reference.
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and project managers regarding utility findings, safety protocols, and site conditions.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and industry standards while working outdoors in various weather conditions on active construction sites.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a service technician or in a similar field service role within the energy & utilities sector.
• Strong background in land surveying, underground utility locating, or related technical fields.
• Familiarity with ground-penetrating radar (GPR), utility locating devices, schematics, blueprints, and construction plans.
• Experience working with underground utilities such as cables, pipes, and other infrastructure components.
• Ability to interpret site plans and construction documents accurately for utility marking purposes.
• Skilled in operating company vehicles including trucks equipped for outdoor work environments; valid driver’s license required.
• Hands-on experience with vacuum excavation techniques for utility detection preferred.
• Knowledge of safety protocols relevant to outdoor work sites and underground utility detection activities.
• Capable of operating heavy equipment such as backhoes or forklifts when necessary; certification is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration in fast-paced environments.
• Prior construction site experience is highly desirable; ability to read blueprints and schematics is essential.

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
