SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH AND SAFETY SPECIALIST - ENVIRONMENTAL

Summary

This position is responsible for promoting EHS awareness and compliance throughout the organization to all employees. This position will lead multiple programs to ensure environmental and regulatory compliance for the Growth Fund and its business enterprises including alignment with Clean Water Act (CWA); National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA); Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures; Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, etc. This position will assist with processes to minimize or eliminate worker safety, environmental, and regulatory risks and the development, execution, and training of EHS programs and initiatives with an emphasis on environmental aspects and will be an environmental program lead.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Biological Science, Physical Science, Engineering or related discipline and ten years work experience in environmental health and safety, five years of which must be in the oil, gas or energy industry, and five years of which environmental work has been performed.

OR

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Biological Science, Physical Science, Engineering or related discipline and twelve years work experience in environmental health and safety, six years of which must be in the oil, gas or energy industry, and six years of which environmental work has been performed.

OR

• Associates in Science or related discipline and fourteen years work experience in environmental health and safety, seven years in the oil, gas or energy industry, and seven years of which environmental work has been performed is required.
• Must be able to understand and interpret major regulatory programs, explain their purpose and impact to oil and gas operations.
• Must have excellent computer-based data management and analysis skills and experience with establishing EHS database systems for tracking environmental data, compliance related permits, documents, monitoring reports, audits.
• Must have an environmental compliance certification such as EPA’s Construction General Permit Site Inspector Training or pass the exam within three months of employment.
• Must have working knowledge of Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans.
• Must understand and interpret major EHS regulatory programs and explain their purpose (i.e. Clean Water Act, NEPA, SPCC, RCRA, ESA, etc.).
• Must have experience with managing SPCC programs, SWPP programs, and/or environmental remediation projects, to include plan preparation.
