**Position Summary**

The University Housing Non-Clinical Case Manager is pivotal in spearheading initiatives to enhance retention and completion rates for SUU students living within University Housing. Collaborating closely with the Executive Director of Campus Life and Assistant Director of University Housing, an UHNCCM will play a vital role in overseeing their assigned non-clinical cases, providing assistance to students seeking campus and community resources. An UHNCCM will be asked to lead various initiatives in on campus housing, such as programming and events, crisis on-call, and conduct. Moreover, an UHNCCM will actively participate in non-clinical case management, extending support to the university housing student population. Their expertise will be instrumental in guiding students who are considering withdrawal or showing indicators of declining "health/retention" scores in navigating university support systems and connecting students to departmental resources to improve student retention and success.

**Essential Functions**

  • Coordinate support and resources in non-clinical case management for academics, wellness, mental health, behavioral concerns, and crises for SUU students that are represented in University Housing office, assigned by the Executive Director of Campus Life and Asst. Director of Housing.
  • Collaborate with the University Housing office and other campus constituents to assess students' needs and risks, consider campus and community resources, and develop intervention plans for students of concern.
  • Work with re-engaged students who return to SUU after previously withdrawing/deferring to develop a plan and provide resources to ensure a successful transition back to campus.
  • Assist in overseeing specific team duties as assigned, aiming to holistically support students and enhance retention efforts while identifying avenues for improving services at SUU.
  • Assist in fulfilling the Early Alerts process and provide support and intervention to students who are struggling with their academic performance, course attendance, and/or health and wellness.
  • Monitor and analyze semesterly data on student academic and behavioral concerns, and case interventions; collaborate with leadership to interpret findings and develop strategies to enhance support for high-risk student populations; maintain precise records and generate reports to identify trends and address emerging student needs.

Additional Duties

  • Create, implement, oversee, and/or assist with all outreach campaigns within University Housing.
  • Inform the on campus housing community of important information, such as withdrawal deadlines, resources, and offer students the necessary information according to their circumstances.
  • Other duties as assigned.

**Education & Experience**

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a higher education or equivalent crisis management Proven self-motivation and organizational acumen to independently pla

n and execute tasks and projects under deadlines; take ownership of issues-make decisions and see them through to resolution-and manage multiple priorities, follow-ups, and support requests effectively.

  • Ability to represent University Housing to senior leaders of the university, current/prospective students, their parents, families, and the community.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal skills - excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills, including proven effectiveness in speaking on a one-on-one basis and making oral presentations before groups.
  • Maintain calm, composure, and resilience under pressure; defuse frustrated students, navigate tense conversations with empathy and steadiness, and demonstrate perseverance when helping students in crisis.
  • Experience leading and motivating others to create successful partnerships, programs, and initiatives.
  • Understanding of national trends, current issues, and best practices in higher education, especially those involving students, parents, and families.
  • Experience working and rapport building with varied groups - students, parents, families, and communities.
  • Continuously reflect and adjust processes, adjusting from setbacks and feedback to improve workflow effectiveness.
