**Essential Functions**
- Hire, train, mentor, and supervise student employees.
- Safely deliver, set-up and strike all necessary tables, chairs, canopies and staging according to reservation requests.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms; restock paper products and soap; dispose of waste and litter; wash windows and desks; clean public areas; re-lamp light fixtures.
- Vacuum carpets; sweep, mop, scrub various types of hard surface floors.
- Maintain equipment in good working condition and oversee general cleaning supplies.
- Assist with furniture moving and event set-up per reservation requests.
- Communicate with Faculty/Staff in assigned areas to assure cleanliness standards are being met.
- Report and/or coordinate needed repairs to Facilities Management. Submit work orders when necessary.
- Deep clean carpets and refinish hard surface floors at proper intervals.
- Ensures compliance with safe work practices as outlined by campus standards and OSHA regulations; lock and unlock windows and doors; assist with providing security to facilities as applicable; clear snow from enter ways and stairs as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent GED.
- Experience performing custodial functions in a supervisory capacity.
- General knowledge of custodial equipment and proper operation.
- Knowledge of State and Federal regulations applicable to the area of responsibility, including but not limited to SDS procedures, OSHA rules, and other Federally Mandated safety practices.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities, strong human relations abilities, and ability to mentor part time student workers.
- Must have the ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbal, with Facilities Management staff regarding critical information, shift occurrences, work orders, problems, upcoming needs, and tasks beyond the individual's scope and capability.
- Must have a current Utah Driver's License and present a neat, professional appearance with clothing appropriate to work assignments.
- Working knowledge of computer programs related to the position.
- Experience stage events including canopies, tables, chairs, stages, podiums etc.
- Willing to attend training and receive certifications related to the position.
- Proven ability to complete tasks and assignments with dedication, using ethical behavior.
