The Beverley Taylor Sorenson College of Education and Human Development at Southern Utah University is inviting applications for dynamic, highly qualified Social Workers who can teach undergraduate/graduate classes in the Family Life and Human Development department. We seek a collaborative and student-centered Social Work professional who will teach and mentor undergraduate/graduate students in social work and family sciences. The Tenure-Track position offers opportunities for program development and leadership at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. This is a full-time, tenure track, 9-month faculty position in Cedar City, Utah with excellent benefits. **Essential Functions**
- Teach 4 undergraduate or graduate courses within Social Work, Family Services, Family Studies, and Human Development.
- The primary focus of this position is teaching students.
- Course assignments may change based on student need and faculty expertise. Potential courses to be taught include:
- Internship/ Clinical Supervision.
- Social Work and Social Welfare.
- Social Work Practice Classes.
- Future MSW graduate courses.
- Mentoring undergraduate students and providing future clinical supervision in a graduate program.
- Professional commitment to scholarly activity.
- Participate in departmental, college, university, and community service.
- Other assignments as determined by the department chair and dean.
Minimum Qualifications
- An earned Master's degree in Social Work. In addition, candidates should have an earned DSW or http://ph.d.in/ a related field. ABD candidates will be considered with a firm defense date.
- Minimum of 2 years practicing therapy in a clinical/community mental health setting.
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (or will be licensed within a year of being hired).
- Experience with developing and/or implementing a social work program.
- Evidence of successful university teaching experience in Family Life and Human Development, Social Work, or a closely related field.
- Interest and ability in utilizing and facilitating educational technologies in teaching.
- Familiarity with online delivery systems.
- Demonstrated awareness of and experience with issues of educational equity and pedagogical inclusion.
