This position operates mobile equipment to provide landscaping and campus grooming to the Southern University Baton Rouge Campus.

Minimum Qualifications

One year of experience in mobile equipment operations.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Operates field tractors that may be equipped with attachments such as bush hogs, belly attachments, blade, hoes, loaders, field tractors with gang mowers, flatbed truck, and responsible for grooming over 512 acreage of campus grounds.
  • Check lawn equipment, tools, etc., weekly; submit work orders as needed for repairs on equipment assigned, assist with blowing areas where campus have been groomed, work overtime as needed,
  • Return equipment back clean at the end of the workday.
  • Check fluid levels before using equipment daily.

Compensation: The beginning salary is $17.18/hourly.
