About the Role
The Veterinary Practice Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day business operations of the practice, ensuring operational efficiency, financial performance, exceptional client service, and employee engagement. This role serves as a leader and resource for the veterinary team while supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Practice Operations:
- Manage daily clinic operations to ensure smooth workflow and efficiency
- Monitor inventory levels and vendor relationships
- Ensure compliance with veterinary, OSHA, state, and federal regulations
Team Leadership & Human Resources:
- Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and retain team members
- Develop employee schedules and maintain appropriate staffing levels
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and development opportunities
- Foster a positive workplace culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and excellence
- Address employee relations matters professionally and confidentially
- Manage payroll
Financial Management:
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and practice profitability
- Manage accounts payable, payroll processes, and expense control
- Identify opportunities to improve operational and financial performance
Client Experience:
- Ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained
- Resolve client concerns and complaints promptly and professionally
- Support client education initiatives and community outreach efforts
- Help maintain a welcoming and positive client experience
Strategic Growth:
- Collaborate with veterinarians and leadership to achieve business goals
- Implement marketing and client retention initiatives
- Analyze operational data and recommend improvements
- Lead special projects and continuous improvement efforts
- Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 3 years of management experience, preferably in a veterinary, healthcare, or service-based environment
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Experience with budgeting, staff scheduling, and operational management
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with practice management software and Microsoft Office applications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, preferred
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
