Job Summary: As a Construction Manager for a utility-scale solar electrical subcontractor, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of solar construction projects. You will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to safety and quality standards. You will act as a key link between project managers, subcontractors, and workers, ensuring effective communication and smooth workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of solar construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Oversee and manage construction workers and subcontractors, ensuring tasks are performed correctly and efficiently.
- Review construction plans and specifications to ensure accuracy and quality of work performed.
- Conduct regular site inspections to enforce adherence to safety and building regulations.
- Address and resolve on-site issues promptly to prevent project delays.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, superintendents, and other stakeholders about progress and any issues on site.
- Maintain detailed records of construction processes, worker attendance, and project costs.
- Train new team members in operational protocols and safety procedures.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
- Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials, often weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
- Standing and Walking: Prolonged periods of standing and walking across uneven terrain.
- Climbing: Climbing ladders and scaffolding to access different parts of the installation.
- Bending and Stooping: Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling to install and inspect components.
- Manual Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling tools and small components.
- Weather Conditions: Working outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a construction manager, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory role, preferably in solar or electrical construction.
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and safety guidelines, with a focus on solar electrical systems.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills; ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints.
- Relevant certifications such as OSHA 30 and NFPA70E required; additional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP or CAPM) are a plus.
Travel Requirements:
- Up to 50% travel may be required to various project sites.
