What are the responsibilities and job description for the PLT Service Manager position at Southern Tire Mart LLC?
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and coordinate all PLT service operations, including mounting, balancing, rotating, and repairing tires.
Manage and schedule technicians to meet customer and operational needs.
Diagnose and assist with repairs of vehicle systems, including:
Tires (passenger & light truck)
Brakes
Steering & Suspension
HVAC systems
Electrical systems
Ensure timely and high-quality fleet inspections and preventative maintenance.
Train, coach, and develop technicians to meet performance and safety standards.
Monitor inventory, assist with ordering, unloading, and inventory counts.
Support roadside assistance operations when needed, including dispatching or hands-on service using service trucks (e.g., F-350).
Maintain and use Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) effectively.
Enforce safety procedures and company policies, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
Provide excellent customer service and resolve customer concerns when escalated.
Participate in management meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills, Education & Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years old.
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
2 years of experience in tire or mechanical service (light truck/passenger); prior management or supervisory experience preferred.
Strong understanding of tire and automotive service practices.
Ability to lift/move tires and equipment weighing 30–250 lbs., with or without mechanical aids.
Able to work in physically demanding environments and conditions.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to motivate and lead a team while maintaining high service standards.
