What are the responsibilities and job description for the Truck Driver Class A position at Southern Tier Express, Inc.?
Southern Tier Express, Inc. is seeking an experienced and reliable Class A CDL driver with a background in over-dimensional loads to join our team! A successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting wind turbine components such as blades, nacelles, and tower sections along with other goods and materials to various locations. Following all applicable laws and regulations is required. Drivers will leave the Northeast area to any part of the United States and then will return back to the Northeast.
Responsibilities:
- Be able to drive long distances for extended periods of time
- Be able to read maps, permits and follow directives
- Be able to lift and carry heavy objects
- Effective communication with customers and co-workers
- Be familiar with the rules of the road and safety regulations
- Ensure trucks are maintained in good working condition, and are kept clean
Qualifications:
- Must have a valid Class A CDL and a clean driving record
- Must be able to pass a drug test and physical agility test
- Must be able to operate a manual transmission
