Southern Tier AIDS Program, Inc. is looking for a Housing Program Technician to join our Binghamton team! This position provides data management and administrative support for the Health Homes Housing (HHH) and Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) Programs. Assists Housing Program staff with providing confidential services to persons with qualifying chronic illnesses. The Housing Program Technician reports directly to the Assistant Director of Client Services, Housing.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities and duties of a Housing Program Technician are:
- Provides administrative support to the housing program(s) including data management, filing, file audits and database management. Responsible for the implementation and upkeep of a universal organizational system for fiscal files and client charts.
- Provides supportive services and transportation as directed by the housing staff to persons living with qualifying chronic illnesses, their families and significant others who receive services from STCC/HOST. These services include but are not limited to:
- Assisting housing staff with the process of assessment and reassessment
- Assisting with implementation of clients’ plan of care
- Under the direction of housing staff, ensuring appropriate housing service linkages are accessed; including but not limited to public assistance, Section 8, emergency rental assistance, emergency utility assistance, homelessness prevention initiatives, and HOPWA assistance
- Assisting with obtaining needed linkages and referrals, including: medical, legal, social, financial, transportation, food security, and other requested services
- Advocating for client needs
- Attending case conferences with senior housing staff and other service providers regarding common clients as necessary
- Calculating Housing Program Subsidy payments based on client income amount, fair market rent, and apartment price amount
- Documentation of client progress toward meeting service plan goals under the direction of housing staff
- Assisting with crisis intervention activities for clients
