Position Overview
The Milling Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating milling equipment to remove asphalt or concrete surfaces in preparation for paving. This role requires technical skill, attention to detail, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate milling machines to remove asphalt or concrete surfaces according to project specifications
- Adjust equipment settings to achieve the proper depth and grade
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Coordinate with crew members to ensure smooth workflow and safety
- Follow project plans, specifications, and crew direction
- Ensure job site safety and compliance with company and OSHA standards
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Assist with other tasks as needed to support milling operations
Qualifications & Requirements
- Proven experience operating milling equipment
- Knowledge of pavement milling techniques and best practices
- Ability to work in hot, physically demanding conditions
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and team-oriented mindset
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely around heavy equipment
- Ability to pass a drug test
- Valid authorization to work
