JOB SUMMARY
Maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and overall presentation of all public spaces throughout the hotel. Ensure lobby, restrooms, corridors, meeting spaces, entrances, and other guest-facing areas are clean, well-stocked, and always welcoming.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS
- Clean and maintain all public areas of the hotel including lobby, restrooms, hallways, elevators, meeting spaces, entrances, and other guest facing areas in accordance with hotel standards
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, polish, and sanitize public spaces to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and associates
- Monitor and restock public area supplies, including restroom amenities, paper products, and cleaning supplies
- Remove trash and debris from public areas and dispose of them properly
- Inspect public areas regularly and report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damage to the appropriate department
- Respond promptly to guest requests and assist with special cleaning needs as assigned
- Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring all equipment is maintained in proper working condition
- Keep storage closets, housekeeping carts, and work areas clean, organized and properly stocked
- Attend required meetings
- Be extremely courteous to all customers and fellow employees
Safety & Compliance
- Comply with all health regulation established by the state of Texas and ensure follow hotel Material Data Sheet binder regulation for chemical uses is being followed.
- Be present in all safety meetings and follow safety standards set up by Valencia Hotel Collection.
- Be participant in Fire Alarm and Emergency drill schedule by hotel
Physical Requirements
- Standing/Walking: Frequently. Standing up to 8 hours a day while cleaning public areas.
- Crouching (Bend at knees): Frequently. While cleaning public areas.
- Stooping (Bend at waist): Frequently. While cleaning public areas, picking up trash.
- Twisting (Knees/waist/Neck): Frequently. Loading and unloading linen.
- Climbing: Occasionally. Climbing to the top shelves in linen rooms.
- Reaching (Overhead/extension): Frequently. Linen shelves
- Handling/Grasping: Frequently. Handling linen, trash, and guest cleaning supplies.
- Pushing/Pulling: Average weight frequently 50 lbs.
- Lifting/Carrying: Average weight frequently 20 lbs.
Working Environment
- Interior: To include public areas, lobby, laundry room and housekeeping areas, meeting space, storage closets, guestrooms occasionally; variety of surfaces/ textures.
- Exterior: Exposure to variety of elements based on weather conditions (heat/cold/rain/wind/ice)
BASICS
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas

- Report any unsafe conditions immediately
- Ensure hotel equipment is in proper working condition
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by the supervisor

- Skilled in working with multiple computer programs- Must be comfortable using devices to communicate with team members and to complete checklists daily (i.e. Alice system.)
