3rd Shift Press Brake Operator

Southern Specialties is looking for a Press Brake Operator that will work at our new, climate-controlled facility, where tight tolerance sheet metal products are produced. This individual will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC hydraulic press to bend metal plates as specified by blueprints, layouts, and templates. We are looking for Press Brake Operators that have proven experience and willingness to work flexible hours and over time on an as-needed basis.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate press brake machinery
• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings
• Use calipers and angle finders to ensure precision
• Inspect finished products for quality
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  
  

Requirements

• 1-2 years of prior experience as a Press Brake Operator
• Ability to read calipers and angle finders
• Experience using a height gage
• Experience working in a fabrication shop
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Generally, 95% of the normal work shift requires standing, bending, squatting, and climbing while running production, inspecting work and machines, and checking procedures.

Job requires moving material and parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Lifting devices should be used when possible. Parts must be lifted, pulled, pushed, and held in place, sometimes without benefit of material handing devices due to limited space and confined areas in and around machines.
