Position Summary
The Construction Engineer provides technical expertise, field support, and project coordination to ensure construction activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in full alignment with design specifications. This role works hand-in-hand with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and design teams to support the successful execution of all phases of construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Review plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with design intent and regulatory requirements.
- Provide engineering support during project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to resolve technical issues or design conflicts.
- Conduct field inspections to verify quality, safety compliance, and adherence to project standards.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and change orders.
- Monitor construction progress and support the development of project documentation and progress reports.
- Analyze project data to identify potential risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure accurate installation and implementation of project components.
- Support QA/QC activities, including material testing, inspection tracking, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
- Participate in project closeout activities, including punch-list management and as-built documentation.
- 2–5 years of construction engineering or related experience.
- Solid understanding of construction processes, materials, and methods.
- Proficiency with engineering and construction software.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working in both office and field environments.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project locations.
