Southern Spark Electric is seeking an experienced, dependable Lead Electrician / Working Foreman to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a skilled electrician who can confidently run jobs in the field, lead crews, communicate professionally with customers and contractors, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to code.
The right candidate will have strong experience in residential and/or commercial electrical work, be comfortable managing projects from rough-in to trim-out, and take pride in high-quality workmanship. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can both perform the work and oversee the jobsite.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage electrical projects from start to finish
- Supervise and work alongside helpers/apprentices or other electricians in the field
- Read plans, layout jobs, troubleshoot issues, and ensure installations are completed correctly
- Perform electrical installations, repairs, upgrades, and service work in accordance with code and company standards
- Coordinate with homeowners, contractors, project managers, inspectors, and office staff
- Maintain job progress, communicate material needs, and keep projects moving on schedule
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and with attention to detail
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and resolve issues in the field
- Train and mentor junior team members when needed
- Keep company vehicles, tools, and job sites clean and organized
- Represent the company professionally on every job
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Lead Electrician, Journeyman Electrician, or Foreman
- Strong knowledge of residential and/or commercial electrical systems, installations, and troubleshooting
- Ability to read blueprints/plans and manage job layouts
- Experience running jobs, coordinating crews, and maintaining productivity in the field
- Strong understanding of NEC/code requirements and safe work practices
- Ability to troubleshoot independently and make sound decisions on the job
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must be dependable, professional, and team-oriented
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in new construction, remodels, service work, or panel/service upgrades
- Experience managing crews and coordinating with builders/general contractors
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Florida electrical license or journeyman card is a plus (if applicable to how you want to word it)
- Experience with permit/inspection corrections and jobsite problem-solving
