Job Title: Coastal Engineer (Entry-Level)
Location: Baton Rouge, LA (office-based with flexible schedule; periodic field work and travel to coastal project sites)
About the Role:
Join a small, specialized team working on real-world coastal restoration and resilience projects across the Gulf and Atlantic coasts. This role is ideal for a recent graduate who wants hands-on experience in the field and direct mentorship from experienced coastal engineers. You’ll contribute to projects such as wetland restoration, beach nourishment, shoreline stabilization, and coastal resiliency studies—gaining exposure to both fieldwork and design early in your career.
What You’ll Do:
- Support field investigations and site assessments along coastal project areas
- Perform engineering calculations and assist with modeling/analysis
- Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Work with AutoCAD, GIS, and other technical tools
- Collaborate directly with senior engineers on active projects
Requirements:
- BS in Civil Engineering or related field
- FE/EI certification (or ability to obtain shortly after hire)
Pluses:
- Coursework or exposure to coastal engineering concepts
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or GIS
- Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, or similar tools
